RUN FOR OFFICE
Every year there are seats up for election in every area of Berrien County. These seats range from local library and school boards, to township and county commission, state house, state senate and more! If you want to get involved and are thinking about running, or maybe you think you know someone that would make a great candidate, email us at info@berriendems.org. We would be happy to help you decide what office might be right for you and discuss what it takes to do everything from getting your name on the ballot to winning!
JOIN NEIGHBORHOOD
OUTREACH
We are looking for Neighborhood Outreach Volunteers for every precinct!
What do Neighborhood Representatives do?
-
Set the agenda for the state party.
-
Get out the vote!
Why is this important?
-
When the precinct organization is weak, the party is weak.
-
Without it, we have low voter turnout, especially in midterm elections.
-
Without it, voters feel disconnected from the party.
-
It helps us identify candidates to run for local office.
-
Prioritizes voting on the local level, instead of a "top down" party structure.
-
It is the most effective method for mobilizing voters through face-to-face discussion.
Things you can do as a Precinct Delegate, Precinct Captain, Neighborhood Representative
Text bank, phone bank, knock doors, collaborate with local groups for voter education, host candidate meet-and-greets, write letters to the editor, and more.
