Project 2025 - The Horrific Truth
Project 2025, a lengthy policy guide developed by the Heritage Foundation and staffed with supporters of Donald Trump, lays out Trump’s extremist plans if he is again elected President. This document supports special interests over the needs of the average American by proposing to dismantle democratic institutions, abolish governmental checks and balances, and greatly weaken the protection of women’s rights.
Some of the specific proposals in Project 2025 (P2025) are:
Eliminating/replacing government employees who refuse to bend or break laws to achieve authoritarian goals. P2025 has a plan to fire 50,000 career civil servants and replace them with political appointees who will support Trump’s extremist agenda.
Taking partisan control of the Department of Justice, the FBI, the Department of Commerce, the Federal Trade Commission, and dismantling the Department of Homeland Security.
Dismissing governmental checks and balances by reducing the role of Congress to enact policy
Increasing the ability of the President to act without Congress.
Installing conservative allies as acting administrators, who do not require Senate confirmation.
Decreasing health and assistance programs by reducing the scope of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
Favoring the fossil fuel industry by rolling back many of President Biden’s climate policies and dismantling the Environmental Protection Agency's renewable energy programs.
Eliminating the Department of Education, including the Head Start early education program.
Eliminating federal protections for reproductive health care, including contraception and abortion
Limiting utilization of mail-order abortion pills
Eliminating federal funding for providers who offer reproductive health services.
The President of the Heritage Foundation, Kevin Roberts, recently said that they are winning “the second American Revolution” and indicated it will “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be”. Interesting!! The Heritage Foundation currently coordinates with extremist, violent groups and recruits “foot soldiers” at State Fairs.
Trump’s name appears on 190 pages of P2025 and the document is promoted by his superPAC. One of Trump’s key donors sits on the Heritage Foundation Board. His national press secretary appeared in a pro-P2025 video. Despite these very strong links, Trump is now spreading the obvious lie that he doesn’t know anything about P2025. He is doing so because he knows that the extremist policies contained in this document are highly unpopular.
It is time to fully educate ourselves. Do we really want authoritarian leaders to dismantle our democracy?
